Spectators may carry mobile devices smaller than 7” in length and/or height including cellphones, smartphones and PDAs at the U.S. Amateur Championship and use them for limited purposes on the championship grounds, subject to the following restrictions:

  • All device volume controls must be set to “silent” or “vibrate” at all times
  • Phone calls must not be received or placed in any area that may disrupt play
  • Use of approved devices for photographs must fall within the camera/photography policy
  • Video and audio recording and live broadcasting are not permitted at any time
  • Texting and email are permissible throughout all areas of the golf course but use should NOT disrupt players

Violation of the above policy may result in immediate expulsion and loss of ticket privileges for the remainder of the championship.


The Ticket Holder is any individual lawfully possessing a valid Ticket and/or Credential for this Championship. By accepting a Ticket or Credential, the Ticket Holder has agreed to the terms and conditions set forth herein and as otherwise communicated to the Ticket Holder. The Ticket Holder expressly assumes all risks incidental to and associated with attendance at the Championship and to the game of golf, including without limitation, the risk of being struck by golf balls or golf clubs and hereby waives, releases and discharges the United States Golf Association (USGA), Oakland Hills Country Club, any and all of their respective affiliated companies and vendors, participating players, and all employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives and/or volunteers associated with the Championship, and agrees to hold harmless all of the persons and entities listed above, from any and all claims for damages, personal injury or property loss or damage including all costs and expenses arising out of or relating to attendance at the Championship.

Tickets and/or Credentials may be revoked without refund or other considerations and the Ticket Holder may be removed from the Championship for failure to obey all posted signs and instructions of the Championship officials, gallery marshals, and/or security personnel. Anyone attempting to alter or reproduce this ticket in whole or in part will be prosecuted under the law. For security or other purposes, Ticket Holder consents to the reasonable inspection of both person and property before entering and/or during the Championship. The USGA reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse admission to the Championship or to eject anyone refusing to cooperate with security procedures or possessing items deemed unlawful, dangerous or prohibited by the USGA.


As a condition to receiving a ticket and entry to the Championship, The Ticket Holder hereby grants permission to the United States Golf Association, Oakland Hills Country Club and affiliated companies to utilize in perpetuity the holder’s image, likeness and/or voice, as well as the image, likeness and/or voice of any minor accompanying the Ticket Holder, incidental to any live or recorded television or video display or other transmission or form of reproduction in whole or in part of the Championship without compensation and/or notice.


No Weapons (regardless of permit, including but not limited to firearms or knives)

No Explosives or Fireworks of any kind

No Tablets, Laptop Computers and/or Full Size Computers (cellular mobile devices smaller than 7” are permitted)

No Noise Producing Devices (including portable speakers and the like)

No Cameras (other than practice rounds for personal photographic use) Note: Use of cameras and mobile device camera features must follow the camera/photography policy.

No video or audio recording or live broadcasting at any time with any device

No Backpacks, Briefcases or Bags larger than 6″W x 6″H x 6″D in their natural state. Note: Transparent/clear plastic hand and shoulder bags smaller than 12”W x12”H x6”D are permitted.

No Signs, Posters and/or Banners

No Containers, Coolers, Aerosol Cans and/or Spray Bottles except for medical or infant needs ~ Note: Transparent/clear plastic water bottles (size 24 ounce or less) are permitted when empty.

No Pets (other than service animals as defined by the ADA assisting disabled individuals)

No Lawn Chairs or Oversized Chairs with Arms (only portable compact chairs without arms are permitted)

No Ladders and/or Step Stools or other similar items

No Bicycles allowed inside admission areas or on the championship grounds

No other items deemed unlawful, dangerous or disruptive by the USGA and/or Championship Security Personnel, in their sole discretion.
